City of Oakley Events for the Holiday Season
Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Put your dollar to good use this holiday season by purchasing your gifts through the Holiday Boutique! This event is a fundraiser for Veterans at VA Hospital in Martinez. There will be handmade items, items from independent sellers, pictures with Santa, raffle prizes, baked goods and so much more!
Saturday, December 7th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm The annual Christmas tree lighting celebration is back at the Civic Center Plaza in Oakley, CA! Attendees can enjoy Christmas caroling, cookies, cocoa, crafts and performances by the Oakley Union Elementary School District, the Freedom High School choir and other local dance companies. There will even be a visit from Santa Claus! At approximately 6:00 pm, the 30-foot Christmas tree will be lit.
Saturday, December 14th from 10:00 am – noon Breakfast with Santa is back for another year! Kids of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy a continental breakfast of pastries, cereal and fruit while making a small craft. Santa will later be joining to take visit and take pictures with children. Register ahead, space for the event is limited and no tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
Thursday, December 19th Spread holiday cheer this year by participating in the Hometown Holiday Decorating Contest! This contest is open to any home within the Oakley city limits, excluding businesses and homes decorated by professional decorators. Only decorations on the exterior front yard and roof will be eligible for the contest. Entries into the contest will be open until December 9th at 5:00 pm, with voting available from December 10th through the 18th. The winner will be announced on Thursday, December 19th.
